The HTVFD is proud to house one of the few mobile command/cascade system units in Northern Allegheny County. The Air truck serves as a mobile command center providing incident commanders an enclosed environment for large scale incidents. It also features a 6 cylinder cascade system which allows the department to fill SCBA cylinders on scene, as well as a telescoping light tower for scene lighting.
This unit is designed to provide an easier means of managing an incident as well as providing a service to firefighters. The Air truck also has a laptop computer with First Look Pro, an incident mapping and pre-planning software, allowing the officer to map out directions and help with incident management.
